I created an advertising insert for the Haida Now Exhibition in Museum of Vancouver. The goal of the project was to create engaging advertising insert, make people interested in learning the story of Haida Gwaii and attract visitors to the museum.
The exhibition was made in collaboration of Museum of Vancouver with Haida Gwaii Museum. It shows the insights and knowledge of local Haida artists and tells the story of Haida people.
I designed a postcard that comes in a sleeve envelope. The postcard has main information about the exhibition. To attract more people to the museum I came up with the idea to make a lottery for visitors who received these cards: with a prize as a visit to a studio of the local Haida artist, Corey Bulpitt. On the information side it has an image of the artist's work.
For the design I used a famous character of Haida legends, the raven stealing the sun. To make it engaging I applied the Moire Pattern technique. When the receiver drags a card out of the envelope the movement created the illusion of a flying bird.
